Is the fuel industry having its Betamax moment?

Historically, #truckstops have needed to supply diesel, water, lubes and more recently, AdBlue™.

What we are seeing now is the adoption of new #transitionalfuels by the haulage industry, which has already started to change how truckstops are doing business.

So, with the fuel industry having its VHS/Betamax moment and no general consensus on what fuels the industry will ultimately adopt in sight, are truckstop owners’ bottom lines are starting to bear the brunt?

Storage tanks for fuel

With anecdotal evidence of a slowdown (mainly due to the loss of some business where fleets have already ‘gone green’ or switched to Fuel Cards) there is clearly a need for truckstops to supply what people are buying!

But how to make the decision if you’re not even sure which fuels to offer?

Thankfully, OTS Group are supplying drop-in tanks for drop-in fuels. With sustainable fuel storage tanks from 2,500L to 150,000L equipped with OTS’ proprietary MultiServ™ dispensing equipment, truckstops are able to offer cleaner fuels to their clients, without having to dedicate their main storage tanks to the new fuels, leaving the door open to figure out what is going to work, and which way the industry is going to go.

If you’re not quite ready for a full on switch over of any of your existing storage tanks, but need to make sure that you’re staying on top of demand during this transitional phase, give us a call on 01386 853409 or download our Sustainable Fuel Storage brochure.
